burriss dirty red 18 watt el84 12ax7 low wattage amp head

The 18-watt, Class A Dirty Red features 2 EL84s and a tiny footprint.

Lexington, KY (August 6, 2009) – Burriss Amps and Effects Pedals, maker of the Royal Bluesman introduces the newest member in their series of small, powerful and affordable, hand-made tube amplifiers: Dirty Red.

Known for his line of full size tube amps – Switch Master, Shadow, dB Special and the versatile Royal Bluesman head, builder Bob Burriss confirms the statement that dynamite does come in small packages with the small and nasty Dirty Red tube head.

"For the rock and roller, Dirty Red delivers the intensity, the tone and the gain their looking for in a cool looking package they can afford and can easily carry from gig to gig. You can crank Dirty Red up for a show or dial it down to get that nasty sound even if you’re practicing in an apartment,” says Mr. Burriss.

The 18-watt Class A amp contains the following tube configuration:
3 - 12AX7 Mullards
2 - EL84s
1 - EZ81 Rectifier

With a footprint of only 11.5” x 6.75” x 7.13” and weighing in at 12.7 lbs., the Class A Dirty Red is a medium to high gain rock and roll machine. The amp features full EQ, a foot switchable effects loop (pedal optional), extremely flexible Master Volume, multi-tap outputs at 4, 8 & 16 ohms and a universal power supply. The US hand-built Dirty Red retails for $1195.

The optional foot-pedal for Dirty Red provides control over the effects loop and, like the VIB+ pedal with the Royal Bluesman Amp, it provides front of stage power to drive multiple pedals at once.
