Dunable Guitars introduced the new Strega series of 7-string guitars–-a perfect cut for metal in style and sound, with pickups with extended low-range clarity, custom-wound in their shop. The guitar line, which are tagged at about $3,850, is the brainchild of and hand-built by longtime Dunable luthier Tony Tirado, who explained that they are an outgrowth of his passion for metal as well as his design aesthetic, which tends toward angles, edges, and fins‑–classic flourishes with a fresh spin. They clock in at very well-balanced 7–8 pounds, but sound heavy as hell.
