Los Angeles, CA (January 14, 2009) - C.F. Martin & Co has announced the completion of two new Martin Guitar books.

Book one, "Martin Guitars: A History" is the revised and updated version of the Martin guitar story originally published in 1987. Book one covers the people, the places, and the stories of Martin in an illustrated, full-color, 220-page hardcover book. Retail price: $30.

Book two, "Martin Guitars: A Technical Reference" is considered the companion piece of book one and serves as a guide to every Martin instrument produced. Book two provides information on guitar bodies, necks, headstocks, bridges, woods, as well as chapters covering models by style, the Custom Shop and limited editions. Book two also provides information on highly collectible and lesser known instruments such as Martin archtops, electrics, mandolins and ukuleles. The book ends with comprehensive appendices covering production numbers, retail prices, and instrument specifications. Retail price: $35.

The books will be available in a collectible boxed-set or individually in February 2009. The boxed-set will retail for $70.
