Stringjoy Introduces Flatwound Stainless Electric Guitar Sets: Stringjoy Flyers

Stringjoy, the Nashville-based string manufacturer known for its premium offerings, has released its new line of flatwound stainless electric guitar strings: Stringjoy Flyers.

After thousands of requests to add flatwound offerings to the Stringjoy lineup, Flyers were designed to produce a classic, silky tone that cuts through the mix with a level of clarity not often found in flatwound strings.

Flyers are available in four sets featuring Stringjoy’s approach to balanced tension. Ranging from a purist-preferred 12-52 all the way down to a shredder-friendly 9-42, Flyers both celebrate and expand on the traditional approach to flatwounds and invite guitarists of all styles to experience their classic tone and surprising versatility.

“We’ve spent more than five years of relentless development, testing, and refinement to create Stringjoy Flyers because we knew flatwounds could be more than just a niche choice—they could be something truly inspiring. Our goal was to create a string that delivers the smooth feel and warm character players expect, without sacrificing clarity, balance, or musicality. Flyers are the result of that pursuit, and I think players are going to feel the difference immediately.” - Scott Marquart, Stringjoy
