John Bohlinger gets the scoop on the Seymour Duncan's 50th Anniversary Tele-Gib, a precise replica of Seymour's personal guitar built by the Fender Custom Shop—not the famous one he made for Jeff Beck in London, but the refined version he built for himself with a stop-tail Tune-o-matic for proper intonation, hand-carved arm and belly contours, and his own custom-wound pickups that differ slightly from the standard JB/Jazz set. Limited quantities of this historically accurate recreation will be available through Seymour Duncan dealers and direct, marking the first guitar the company has produced in 15 years.
Seymour Duncan's Marc DiLorenzo walks us through the new Slash 3.0 signature pickups, which came about when Slash called needing something different for a lighter, all-mahogany SG he was playing at this past summer's Back to the Beginning show honoring Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath. Unlike Slash's other signature pickups, which use Alnico 2 magnets, the 3.0 features Alnico 5 for a bit more power, snap, and brightness—and after Slash approved the prototype, he started installing them in several of his touring guitars, including a B.C. Rich and a Les Paul Gold Top.

Slash 3.0 Signature Humbuckers
From his paradigm-shifting playing on Appetite for Destruction to the present, Slash has trusted Seymour Duncan pickups to deliver his signature tone for decades. The Seymour Duncan Slash 3.0 represents his hottest set of humbuckers yet, delivering a higher-output take on his previous pickup collaborations without giving an inch when it comes to clarity and dynamics. This set was originally commissioned by Slash for the Guns N’ Roses performance at the Back to the Beginning tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, where Slash rocked a pair of his 3.0 ’buckers. In his own words, the Slash 3.0 set “is basically just one more step up. You have more output, but still that same clarity and honesty of the sound of the guitar.” Plus, Sweetwater’s Slash superfans are pleased to report that the Slash 3.0 set sports authentic vintage-inspired construction in line with his previous pickups, including rough-cast Alnico 5 magnets and a wax-potted design to eliminate noise and squeals. Whether you’re supercharging your SG à la Slash at the Back to the Beginning concert or seeking a more cutting sound out of your single-cut, Seymour Duncan’s Slash 3.0 pickups are sure to sate your tonal appetite.
PG's Chris Kies met up with Chapman Guitars founder Rob Chapman to talk about the company's completely redesigned guitar range, which features all-new Chapman pickups developed with industry legend Trevor Wilkinson, carbon fiber neck reinforcement for extreme tuning and temperature stability, and practical touring-focused updates like magnetic back plates and accessible truss rod adjustments between the strings at the neck heel. The new lineup includes the Scout Legacy and Scout Traditional models, the Lawmaker Legacy, Black Stone Cherry's Chris Robertson signature models made in India, and the more traditional Pete Honore DPT series.
PG's Chris Kies met up with Revv Amps co-founder Derek Eastveld to talk about the new Dirt Dog, a collaboration with guitarist Joey Landreth that captures the dirtiest tones from the Bros. Landreth's Dog Ear album—specifically, the sound of a heavily modded Princeton that Joey built to chase Dumble-style gain before he accidentally blew it up. Featuring four simple controls (gain, level, bite, and tone), with the "bite" knob shifting midrange and adding attack, the pedal is available now.
