Washburn Guitars Nuno Bettencourt,HM Series & More

PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Nashville, TN, for Summer NAMM '09 where he visits the Washburn Guitars booth. In this segment, we get introduced to several new Washburn models including, the Custom Shop WI 595 Idol, a HM Series firetruck red model and several Nuno Bettencourt signature models. The WI 595 comes with a mahogany body, carved maple top and Duncan pickups (Custom - bridge - '59 - neck). The HM Series guitar show features a firetruck red gloss finish, all chrome hardware (chrome EMGs and Floyd Rose trem), Grover tuners and a mahogany body. The Nuno Bettencourt signature models shown include a 20th Anniversary with an alder body, maple neck, ebony fretboard and Stephens extended cutaway 5-bolt neck joint. The other model is the Nuno N4 Goth, which is the first Nuno model to include active pickups (Seymour Duncan Blackouts).

Thirty-five years ago, a group of University of Buffalo students gathered in a basement, drank a lot of beer, and played some tunes. They had no goal other than to have fun and party. But it wasnā€™t long before they headed into a studio housed in an apartment above local guitar shop Top Shelf Music to record the debut moe. album, Fatboy. Slowly, the band built a devoted fan base, crisscrossing the country in a van. As they persevered, the band and their audience grew up together, and now itā€™s the fansā€™ children who are discovering the group.
