Tungsten's approach to building amplifiers is to follow in the footsteps of the Fender tweed designs of the mid- to late-50s focusing on compression, sag, and a complimentary mid-range tonality with various dynamic levels. The Buckwheat is a 30 watt combo driven by 6L6 power tubes and shares the same preamp and voicing as Tungsten's smaller combo--the Crema Wheat by having 2-12AX7 preamp tubes and a GZ34 rectifier tube.
