After 44 years, the Rolling Stones are now allowed back into the British seaside town of Blackpool. The ban originally came after a performance at the Empress Ballroom led to a riot where "fans smashed crystal chandeliers, tore up seats and trashed a grand piano, while hurling bottles and stones."
Like MEGADETH? More appropriately, do you like Glen Drover''s ability to rip an axe? According to Blabbermouth, Drover is working with Aadagio''s Stéphan Forté to release an all-instrumental album. The 10-track disc will showcase a different guest guitarist on each track.
Uh oh! Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) got a little tanked before driving his tank yesterday. Apparently the 45-year-old guitarist was spotted weaving his Hummer in and out of traffic lanes before failing a sobriety test in Laguna Beach. Even more interesting is that Sambora had two minors in the car and could be charged with child endangerment as a result.
Eddie Vedder sold the guitar used on "Love Boat Captain" for $8,000 in an effort to raise money for the West Memphis 3. The fundraiser took place at the home of Peter, Paul and Mary member, Peter Yarrow. Vedder is also auctioning concert seats and meet-and-greet sessions on his upcoming debut solo tour.
