Kent, England (April 15, 2013) -- Rotosound are proudly supporting the Billy Sheehan ‘At: Guitar Center’ workshop tour, in association with Hartke, at eight locations throughout the USA in May 2013.

Voted ‘Best Rock Bass Player’ in Guitar Players Magazine’s readers polls five times, Billy Sheehan is a rocker at heart and as busy as ever. He has two new albums about to hit the stores, ‘Live In Tokyo’ with Mike Portnoy, Tony MacAlpine and Derek Sherinian and his sixth album with Niacin –‘Krush’. Plus he has just started on a new project, ‘Winnery Dogs’ with Mike Portnoy and his old Mr.Big pal Richie Kotzen. All of which gives him plenty of scope to demonstrate his considerable bass playing techniques.

The ‘At: Guitar Center’ workshops will feature a live performance from Billy, a question and answer session plus a meet and greet with great opportunities to get his autograph. This is an amazing chance to see up close one of the world’s most technically accomplished bass players demonstrate the skills that have made him the master of hard rock low end. The sessions are free to the public, however capacity is limited at each venue and attendees should arrive early to be sure of a space. Billy is appearing at Guitar Center, at the given dates and times, in the following locations:-

  • Monday May 13th 2013 6.00pm West LA
  • Tuesday May 14th 2013 6.00pm San Jose
  • Thursday May 16th 2013 6.00pm Reno
  • Friday May 17th 2013 6.00pm Scottsdale

  • Wednesday May 22nd 2013 6.00pm Manhattan
  • Thursday May 23rd 2013 6.00pm Danbury

Billy has been a Rotosound endorsee for over 25 years and his signature stainless steel roundwound strings have helped shaped his unique sound.

All attendees can enter to win the workshop tour's grand prize, a Billy Sheehan Hartke rig featuring an LH1000 Bass Amplifier and AK410/AK115 Bass Cabinets, or Billy Sheehan-signed Rotosound Swing Bass 66 (BS66) Bass Strings given away at each location.

We polled our readers to find the coolest guitar shops in the US, and here are the first half of the results, in no particular order.

The 20 Coolest Guitar Shops in the US, Vol. 1
"We asked PG readers what is the coolest guitar shop they've been to in the US. And while long-gone favorites like Manny's Music (New York) and Black Market Music (San Francisco) came up again and again, there were even more current shops topping readers' favorites list. We compiled the 20 most mentioned stores and quickly realized there were too many great photos we'd have to cut in order to get them all in one gallery. So here's the first installment in no particular order. If you're wondering where your favorite is, it may be coming next time, or we might not be aware of it, so feel free to leave your faves in the comments section."
