Vox Amps Introduces AGA70 Acoustic Guitar Amp

The AGA70 features two channels, Normal and Tube Pre

Melville, NY (February 16, 2010) ā€” VOX Amplification announces the new AGA70 Acoustic Guitar Amplifier. This two-channel amp features both a Normal channel and a Tube Pre channel, complete with a 12AU7 dual triode vacuum tube. The VOX AGA70 is designed from the ground up to meet the needs of today's acoustic performer.

Each of the two channels is equipped with both a standard Ā¼-inch and XLR input with selectable phantom power, making this the perfect amp for a singer-instrumentalist. An additional Lo-Z / Hi-Z switch on each input accommodates a variety of signal levels.

Working in harmony with the traditional Bass, Middle and Treble EQ controls, the Color knob allows the overall tone to be quickly shifted to enhance the EQ settings, dialing in a diverse range of acoustic sounds from warm and fat to clean and chimey. A full complement of effects is available on each channel. The Chorus effect is selectable via a switch or footswitch, and the Reverb can be added to either channel using the Reverb knob. The Anti-Feedback control minimizes acoustic feedback, allowing the AGA70 to be used as an effective stage monitor as well.

Equipped with a DI output (balanced XLR), the AGA70 offers a convenient way to send the sound to a larger PA system without requiring a direct box. This output is also ideal for recording, using the AGA70 as a tube-driven preamplifier. Stereo line inputs can accept the signal from a keyboard or other musical instrument. An MP3 player (or other audio source) can be connected to the AUX input for jam sessions. The tuner output is always active ā€“ even when the main output is muted ā€“ for silent tuning between songs and sets. The optional VFS2 provides footswitch control of the Effect Bypass or All Mute functions, offering great flexibility during a live performance.

The VOX AGA70 acoustic guitar amp features a 6.5" full-range speaker and ported cabinet voiced for full range response, with an output of 70 Watts. It will be available March 2010 with a U.S. MSRP of $550.

Though compressors are often used to add excitement to flat tones, pedal compressors for guitar are often ā€¦ boring. Not so theWarm Audio Pedal76. The FET-driven, CineMag transformer-equipped Pedal76 is fun to look at, fun to operate, and fun to experiment with. Well, maybe itā€™s not fun fitting it on a pedalboardā€”at a little less than 6.5ā€ wide and about 3.25ā€ tall, itā€™s big. But its potential to enliven your guitar sounds is also pretty huge.
