Warwick Announces Corvette NT Limited Edition 2010

The Corvette NT “Neck-Through” Limited Edition 2010 Bass combines a modern ergonomic style with the tone from the great ''60s and ''70s vintage J-bass.

Markneukirchen, Germany (April 17, 2010) -- The Corvette NT “Neck-Through” Limited Edition 2010 Bass combines a modern ergonomic style with the tone from the great '60s and '70s vintage J-bass. The light swamp ash body provides warm tone and a fat foundation, while the neck-through design, with a hard maple neck, brings tight attack and sustain. A luxurious dark ziricote top is used for the body and matched headstock. Two active Twin Jazz pickups and active 3-band MEC electronics give the Corvette Ltd. 2010 powerful punch and modern flexibility. A total of four separately connected single coils, grouped in two “sweet spot” cavities, offer versatile sound with vintage feel. Each Corvette NT Limited Edition 2010 is personally signed on the headstock's back by Warwick founder and president Hans-Peter Wilfer.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) including VAT is 1979.00 GBP (approx. $3059) for the 4-string model and 2149.00 GBP (approx. $3322) for the 5-string model. Gibson originally launched the EB-6 model with the intention of serving consumers looking for a “tic-tac” bass sound.

You may know the Gibson EB-6, but what you may not know is that its first iteration looked nothing like its latest.

When many guitarists first encounter Gibson’s EB-6, a rare, vintage 6-string bass, they assume it must be a response to the Fender Bass VI. And manyEB-6 basses sport an SG-style body shape, so they do look exceedingly modern. (It’s easy to imagine a stoner-rock or doom-metal band keeping one amid an arsenal of Dunables and EGCs.) But the earliest EB-6 basses didn’t look anything like SGs, and they arrived a full year before the more famous Fender.
