Aguilar Unveils the Super Double Pickup

They feature 42-gauge Formvar wire and Alnico 5 magnets and are a direct replacement for many standard soap bar sizes.

New York, NY (February 20, 2015) -- Aguilar, the leading edge USA manufacturer of high quality bass pickups is pleased to announce the Super Double pickups.

Available for four, five and six string basses, the Super Double pickups feature two rows of Alnico 5 pole pieces that create a thick yet articulate tone, complete with hum-canceling performance. Paired with Aguilar’s OBP-1, 2 or 3 onboard preamp, bassists will have an aggressive and rich tone palette.

Like all Aguilar pickups, the Super Double pickups are wound in Aguilar’s NYC factory. They feature 42-gauge Formvar wire and Alnico 5 magnets and are a direct replacement for many standard soap bar sizes.

The Super Double pickups will be shipping early April with a US street price of $195 for the 4 string model, $225 for the 5 string model, and $255 for the 6 string model.

Knowing how to function in different keys is crucial to improvising in any context. One path to fretboard mastery is learning how to move through positions across the neck. Even something as simple as a three-note-per-string major scale can offer loads of options when it’s time to step up and rip. I’m going to outline seven technical sequences, each one focusing on a position of a diatonic major scale. This should provide a fun workout for the fingers and hopefully inspire a few licks of your own.
