Waldmohr, Germany (March 15, 2017) -- Since late 1973 Ritchie Blackmore used an AIWA reel-to-reel tape deck as a booster and echo machine. The output of this unit was rather high to push the tube input stages at his strong modified Marshall Major. This high driving level is not everyone´s cup of tea, for whatever reasons. With the main goal to achieve Ritchie's typical sound low/medium level, BSM decided to build a significant boutique overdrive pedal in order to add a different and more modern way of receiving the signature Blackmore sound additionally to the classic BSM full power Booster line: the Supreme! It combines the medium output of an overdrive pedal with the typical Blackmore sound, so as to achieve Ritchie’s tone immediately with most amps bright channel independently from the Supremes’ output adjustment. The drive control is there to set perfectly Ritchie’s gain shadings over the last four decades of his artistic development. The basic tone is very beefy with direct bass, punchy mids, and uncolored treble.

  • Famous Blackmore-sounding overdrive pedal at typical low/medium output level.
  • Extra treble boost characteristic and finely tuned response when rolling back the guitar's volume control.
  • Built without OPs. Only a crunchy sounding discrete transistor was used.

BSM was determined to deliver only one distinctive sound and therefore to do without a tone control. Apart from that, the unit features the well-known crunching overdrive charm with a little compression, and uncompromisingly tuned to Ritchie’s tone. To achieve the sound correctly, low/medium output pickups are highly recommended. Each unit is handbuilt with point-to-point wiring, premium quality parts, and true bypass switching. Street price is $285.00
