Experience PRS - Dweezil Zappa Interview

PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Stevensville, MD, for Experience PRS 2009 where he catches up with tonehound Dweezil Zappa. In this interview, Dweezil talks about exploring PRS' wood shop, finding the ideal woods for his one-off guitar and stumbling across an amazing feat of nature - a naturally combined flame and quilted maple piece of wood, which Dweezil uses for the body. In addition, he talks about using a PRS guitar for the very first time during Zappa Playing Zappa's performance at Experience PRS.

There’s something beautifully paradoxical about Luther Dickinson’s new album, Dead Blues Vol. 1. It’s a collection of blues standards that were performed by the Grateful Dead throughout their career, yet it sounds like neither traditional blues nor Dead-style interpretations. Instead, it exists in some liminal space between the Mississippi Delta and the cosmos—a place where Blind Lemon Jefferson meets synthesizers and omnichords, and Willie Dixon’s words floats over funk grooves and ambient soundscapes.
