"This archtop was a commissioned by a customer who loves whales, explains Mirabella, a New York builder who follows in the tradition of classic archtop builders. The guitar features side soundports with doors to control the sound, as well as a floating ""second top"" beneath the thinly carved top that is attached to the side and floats under the bracing on the left side. The left front f-hole features a stainless steel sliding door that can be opened or closed. The builder says that the guitar responds more like a flattop with the doors closed. The guitar has a 17"" lower bout and features asymmetrical x-bracing. "
