"Erik from Sweden's pedalboard is housed in a Rockcase aluminum travel case and uses just one Alctron AC2DC power supply for all of the pedals. He explains, ""My tech has cut one of the power leads to all but one of the pedals to avoid weird hum."" The tech also made an In/Out/Amp switch box. His pedals are a Crybaby Wah, Ibanez TS-10 Tube Screamer, ProCo RAT (""It sounds really lo-fi""), DOD Milkbox compressor (""I feel I get more dynamics and cooler changes in sound depending on my pick attack if I put the compressor after the overdrive/distortion). Then, a Boss TR-2 (""I love tremolo...it's great because you can change the wave curve""), Dunlop Stereo UniVibe, one UniVibe output to a Yamaha YT-1200, and an Artech SE-ADL Analog Delay (""for a tad of soft ambience on some songs"")."

Previously, John Bohlinger was curious about what active pickups could do for his anemic 1994 Stratocaster and EMG offered their drop-and-go Steve Lukather SL20 Pickguard set. JB was floored with the guitar's fresh voice and responsive dynamics he wanted to expand the active experiment to his beloved 2003 Gibson Les Paul. So we got a set of EMG Fat 55 Retro Active Humbuckers that required a full install and our luthier friend Dave Johnson walks us through the whole process before John got to test out his old friend's tonal makeover.
