Modena, Italy (January 15, 2011) -- IK Multimedia announces its AmpliTube Fender for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad: full-featured tone guitar rig apps with built-in recording studios offering the legendary Fender tone designed and developed in close cooperation with Fender.

Derived from the desktop version of AmpliTube Fender, the app offers 5 Fender amp models ā€” the ā€™65 Deluxe Reverb, the Super-Sonic, the ā€™65 Twin Reverb, the ā€™59 Bassman LTD and the Pro Junior, and 6 Fender stompbox models ā€” Tape Delay, Compressor, the Fender Blender, Phaser, Overdrive and Noise Filter.

The unique AmpliTube Fender signal chain allows the user to build full Fender rigs with three simultaneous stompbox effects on iPhone/iPod touch (and four on iPad) running into an amplifier head, speaker cabinet and microphone. Each element of the tone is individually selectable, with fully operational controls for ultimate ā€˜tweak-abilityā€™. Plus, existing AmpliTube app users can add all of the components of AmpliTube Fender into their current app, incorporating that famous Fender tone into their current sound.

The AmpliTube Fender apps also feature a robust practicing tool which allows the user to import audio material for playing-along, and changing its tempo without affecting the pitch. The SpeedTrainer feature provides the ability to slow down backing tracks (-50%) to learn complex riffs, or speed them up (+200%) for practicing playing skills. Songs and backing tracks or loops can be loaded directly from the iPod library on the iOS device or from the computer.

AmpliTube Fender also comes with a built-in single track recorder with re-amping ability, expandable to a full-featured 4-Track recorder on iPhone or an 8-Track Recorder on iPad, both with master effects section. Ideas can be quickly captured by recording performances that can be shared by exporting high quality audio files or M4As. And an entire band can be recorded, or full songs and compositions can be produced directly in AmpliTube Fender.

AmpliTube Fender features:

  • Real time guitar and bass mobile multi-FX + recording app
  • Full rig with 3 stompboxes (iPhone)/4 (iPad) + amp with effects + cabinet + mic

Keith Urbanā€™s first instrument was a ukulele at age 4. When he started learning guitar two years later, he complained that it made his fingers hurt. Eventually, he came around. As did the world.

Throughout his over-30-year career, Keith Urban has been known more as a songwriter than a guitarist. Here, he shares about his new release, High, and sheds light on all that went into the path that led him to becoming one of todayā€™s most celebrated country artists.

There are superstars of country and rock, chart-toppers, and guitar heroes. Then thereā€™s Keith Urban. His two dozen No. 1 singles and boatloads of awards may not eclipse George Strait or Garth Brooks, but heā€™s steadily transcending the notion of what it means to be a country star.

Gibson originally launched the EB-6 model with the intention of serving consumers looking for a ā€œtic-tacā€ bass sound.

You may know the Gibson EB-6, but what you may not know is that its first iteration looked nothing like its latest.

When many guitarists first encounter Gibsonā€™s EB-6, a rare, vintage 6-string bass, they assume it must be a response to the Fender Bass VI. And manyEB-6 basses sport an SG-style body shape, so they do look exceedingly modern. (Itā€™s easy to imagine a stoner-rock or doom-metal band keeping one amid an arsenal of Dunables and EGCs.) But the earliest EB-6 basses didnā€™t look anything like SGs, and they arrived a full year before the more famous Fender.
