With guitar magazines, this fascination, and pack-rat behavior, was amplified in every way. It felt like the secrets to an entire universe were unlocked every month. And not just the basics like how to play, what to buy, and what was new. You learned how to write and arrange music, how to change strings, how to repair necks, how to wire pickups, how to modify amps, how to design a signal path, how to establish your own unique sound.
