Sully Guitars is now offering a 24-fret version of its set-neck ‘71 Trella singlecut model. Builder Jon "Sully" Sullivan said, "The '71 addresses the issues I had with the classic singlecut while adding my own flair. The design celebrates its 15th birthday this year, and it's been rewarding to see it grow."
The new version adds two frets to the original 22-fret design. According to Sully Guitars, the upper-fret access and neck-to-body balance of the original have been maintained in the update. A '71 Trella 24 prototype has been used on tour by Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong, including on songs such as "1979."
Wong said: "The Trella is by far a work of art embodying all the beauty, versatility, and charisma I need from an instrument. It truly became one of my favorite guitars of all time."
