Stevensville, MD (January 22 2011) -- PRS Guitars debuted two new amps and a new electric guitar at Winter NAMM 2011.

Recording Amp
PRS is offering the new full production run Recording Amp. This “universal” amp is ideal for recording and for producing heavy tones, super clean tones, and everything in between. External switches on many internal gain and tone components normally inaccessible on other amps provide a nearly infinite tonal and gain palate. Two distinct covering options are available for both the head and cabinet. Covering is available in both Stealth (black Tolex) and Paisley, and both options come standard with distinctive curly maple panels.

Recording Amp Specs:
  • 50 Watts
  • EL34 Tubes
  • Treble & Bass Channel Volumes
  • Treble, Mid, Bass, Master, and Reverb Knobs
  • Treble & Bass Channel Gain Switches
  • Bright, Overall Gain, High Cut, and Power Amp Extra Gain Switches
  • Five Output Jacks (two 4-ohm, two 8-ohm, and one 16-ohm)
Recording Cabinet Specs:
  • 2x12 Closed Back with two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers in either Stealth or Paisley covering options
  • Stealth – Heavy duty black Tolex covering with gold piping and Faded Charcoal figured maple face plate
  • Paisley – Paisley covering with Black Gold figured maple face plate
2 Channel "C" and 2 Channel "H" Amps
Handmade in Stevensville, Maryland, PRS’s new 2 Channel “C” and 2 Channel “H” 50 watt amps feature two channels with independent master volume, treble, mid, bass, and gain controls with global reverb. The unique lead channel offers powerful, smooth distortion with liquid sustain, while the clean channel has shimmering, clean highs and extensive headroom but can be overdriven at maximum settings. Both amps feature effects loops with adjustable send and return and are fixed bias.

A proprietary Cinemag (“C”) transformer and 2 EL34 power tubes in the 2 Channel “C” amplifier provide aggressive vintage tones, making them extremely flexible and classic sounding. PRS 2 Channel “H” amplifiers have a more modern, “in your face” tone and feature proprietary “Heyboer” transformers. The “H’s” two 6L6 power tubes produce a fast, articulate amplifier well suited for today’s modern music where alternate tunings are a must. A combo version of the “H’ is also available.

PRS’s new PRS DB-2 speaker cabinet works well with both PRS 2 channel amps but is practical for all musical applications. This deeper 2 x 12 closed back cabinet features all-plywood construction and is wrapped in PRS’s heavy duty black covering. Speakers are Celestion vintage 30s (8 Ohms).

Studio model electric guitar
PRS’s new 22 fret, 25” scale length Studio model electric guitar is a fresh, modern rendition of a traditional single-single-hum guitar set up with the beauty and brightness of a maple top. The possibilities are vast with PRS’s proprietary 57/08 Narrowfield pickups in the middle and bass positions in conjunction with a 57/08 humbucking bridge pickup. Screaming lead tones, crisp rhythm tones and a redesigned 5-way blade switch also enhance the flexibility of this guitar in the studio or on stage.

Other features include mahogany back and neck, V12 finish, rosewood fretboard, “pattern neck” with “pattern thin option,” 2011 birds, tremolo or stoptail bridge option, PRS locking tuners, nickel or gold hardware, and redesigned lampshade push/pull volume and tone controls.
