The JM6 and SP6 both offer custom-shop features at an affordable price.
California (March 24, 2016) -- Fano Guitars, a boutique instrument brand of Premier Builders Guild (PBG), has introduced its new Standard Series, an affordable line of signature guitars from one of the industry’s most respected custom builders.
The Standard Series models feature many of the attributes that have made Fano Guitars world renowned, including beautiful designs that are new yet familiar, superior craftsmanship, and unique “distressed” finishes that make these guitars ultimately playable and recognizable.
The Standard JM6 features an aged look that makes it not only feel familiar, but loved. The JM6’s smooth, early ’60s C-shaped 22-fret maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and Alder body results in playing speed and comfort.
A choice of Hot P-90 or Humbucker pickups gives the Standard JM6 plenty of growl and attitude when needed. Controls include a Volume, Volume Tone and 3-Way Switch. Gotoh Vintage tuners and a TonePros Tuneomatic Stop tailpiece round out the JM6’s professional features.
Available in Olympic White, Bull Black, Ice Blue Metallic or Candy Apple Red, the Standard JM6 sounds as hot as it looks.
The Standard SP6 is a no-nonsense guitar that covers well-traveled ground. It features an Alder body recalling the Les Paul Special, and a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and pickguard layout that triggers memories of the Telecaster.
Sonically, the SP6 spans the best of both worlds with uniquely tasteful tones. The SP6 features a “T” bridge pickup and a P-90 neck pickup for a generous helping of twang or a dollop of greasy blues grit.
Rounding out the professional features of the SP6 are a Volume, Volume Tone and 3-Way Switch, Gotoh Vintage tuners, a Fano “T” Bridge with three Brass Saddles and a TonePros Tuneomatic Stop tailpiece.
“The Standard Series line of guitars takes some of the best attributes of our Alt de Facto series and makes them available to a broader audience,” says PBG founder, Michael Bernstein. “In introducing the Standard Series line, we’ve eliminated many of the costly elements inherent in true custom guitars.”
Jimmy Lovinggood, vice president of sales and marketing for PBG added, “At a MAP price of $1,895, the Standard Series addresses the needs of our dealers who want to offer customers the style and uniqueness of Fano Guitars but at a price point that is more accessible.”
Available now at Fano dealers worldwide, Fano Standard Series guitars are hand-assembled and finished in the U.S.A. with each guitar uniquely distressed in a light finish.

A 15-watt EL84 amp with less compression, fuller/fatter midrange and stout low end.
Pittsburgh, PA (March 23, 2016) -- Two-Rock has introduced its newest amplifier, Cardiff, a 15-watt EL84 amp with less compression, fuller/fatter midrange and stout low end.
Two-Rock, a boutique instrument brand of Premier Builders Guild (PBG), designs and manufactures amplifiers of high sonic clarity that let players feel, control and shape their tone.
Cardiff brings a new platform to the Two-Rock product lineup – the perfect marriage of British heritage and Two-Rock performance engineering and delivers chime, grind and girth without compromise. “While some of our favorite British amps have great tone, they’re often too compressed for live performance and lack the stout bass response that makes for a great playing experience,” says Two-Rock designer Eric Roach. “We feel we’ve delivered those missing elements into a unique new package.”
The front panel of the Cardiff features a single input jack, bass, treble and volume control. A Contour Control provides an active band sweep for maintaining preamp tone control settings. This allows for global adjustment to compensate for differences in room acoustics, speaker cabinets, or bright to dark guitars (PRS Humbucker to Strat, for example).
A 2-way standby switch allows easy control of Standby and Play mode. A Passive effects loop with post-volume send is offered for use with a simple reverb or delay pedal. Available as a head with a matching 1 x 12" speaker cabinet. Cardiff retails for $1,595 MAP and is currently available at Two-Rock dealers worldwide.
Jimmy Lovinggood, vice president of Sales/Marketing for Premier Builders Guild adds, “Cardiff is a great addition to our revamped Two-Rock lineup as it adds a dimension that was missing while giving our dealers a terrific product at a great price.”

Art Esparza, Former Fender Custom Shop Senior Master Builder, Joins Premier Builders Guild
His primary focus will be on limited edition USA Masterbuilt reissues that PBG is producing for D’Angelico Guitars.
Pittsburgh, PA (December 31, 2012) – Premier Builders Guild (PBG) announced that Art Esparza, former Senior Master Builder at Fender Custom Shop, has joined the company. Art will work with PBG Chief Master Builder Gene Baker and his team at the PBG workshop in Arroyo Grande, California. His primary focus will be on limited edition USA Masterbuilt reissues that PBG is producing for D’Angelico Guitars. The first reissue in the series is a 1943 D’Angelico Excel, which will be introduced at the upcoming NAMM Show (Booth 2882).
“It’s my pleasure to have Art as part of our crew,” said Gene Baker. “His vast manufacturing knowledge and do-it-yourself leadership approach will be long-term assets for PBG. It’s like adding a pro quarterback to an energized, well trained team.”
Esparza served at Fender for over 18 years, mentored by some of the finest master builders in the industry, including Fender Custom Shop co-founder John Page, J.W. Black and Phil Kubicki. During that time he designed and built instruments for leading artists including Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, John Mayer, Ernie Isley, Sammy Hagar and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. One-of-a-kind efforts included the widely celebrated “Zeal” Stratocasters for Isley; a custom chambered Showmaster for Teena Marie; a red Strat with Richard McClish piezo bridge for Hagar, and a polka dot Strat for Guy that precisely matches his favorite polka dot shirt.
Since leaving Fender in 2006, Art has created custom instruments under his own name while also designing, building and repairing guitars as a consultant for a leading boutique brand. An accomplished sax player, he has also gigged regularly at several major casinos.
“PBG has taken an innovative approach to the production of US-made masterbuilt guitars and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Esparza. “The D’Angelico reissues I’m focused on are both challenging and satisfying, and I’m looking forward to their introduction at NAMM.”
Michael Bernstein, founder and Chairman of PBG, said “With Art on our team we now have two of the leading master builders in the industry under one roof. This helps ensure unsurpassed craftsmanship and the continued growth of our brand.”
