PG's Joe Coffey is On Location at the 2010 LA Amp Show where he checks out the newest products from Satellite Amps. In this video segment, we get to hear the loudest amplifier at the LA Amp Show was Satellite's updated Omega MK II. Designer Adam Grimm's goal was to create an amp that is loud and aggressive, even at the lowest of volume settings. This 50-watt beast is loaded with a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and a pair of EL34 power tubes. It has a solid state rectifier and a three-control front panel with Volume, Bass, and Treble.
PG's Shawn Hammond is On Location at the 2010 NY Amp Show where he visits the Satellite Amps room. In this segment, we get to see two of their newest amps, the Mudshark (gold sparkle) and the Little Booger.
The Mudshark has a pair of 5881's (cathode biased, push/pull), a pair of 12AX7's, and a 5AR4 rectifier. It pushes about 20 watts and most people say it is very reminiscent of the old Supro's, AKA the "Chicago" or "Zep" sound.
The Little Booger is 12 watt head with a pair of 6AQ5's, a pair of 12AX7's, and an EZ81 rectifier. The Little Booger is a cathode biased, push/pull amp. It has lots of rich harmonics and plenty of gain.
PG's Oscar Jordan is On Location in Van Nuys, CA, for the 2009 LA
Amp Show where he checks out the Satellite Amps booth. In this segment,
we get to see and hear Satellite's newest amp, the Nveus.
The
Nveus is a 7 watt head (also available as a combo) that can run any
octo-based tubes. The demo model in this video came loaded with 3 tubes
(a preamp, a 6V6 power tube and 5Y3 rectifier tube). Adam said he's
also made Nveus models with EL34s and solid state rectifiers for more
gain. Also, the Satellite cabinet used in the demo is a 2x10 loaded
with Celestion 10" Greenbacks.
