Bad Cat Amplification - Hot Cat 50 & Purepath Passive Analog Cab Simulator | NAMM 2026

John Bohlinger met up with Bad Cat to check out the Hot Cat 50, featuring a redesigned 50-watt power section with two channels and switchable Lo and Hi gain modes that cover everything from glassy American cleans and Paisley-style country leads to JCM-style crunch and modded high-gain metal tones. The company also previewed the Purepath, a passive load box and direct box launching in early spring that uses a mechanical fan-based load to make amps sound like speaker cabinets through the PA.
