"Lava Cable unveiled a three-color Rainbow version of their Retro Coil. The coil extends to 20 feet and features a 99.9 percent pure oxygen-free low strand count copper conductor with G&H Industries Show Savers plugs, resulting in a super light and quiet coil cable."
Levana brought its unique new Mellow-D digital delay to the show. It has a rear-panel Jitter switch that lets you add a low- or high-frequency oscillation to the signal for delectably trippy lo-fi tones. It also features an expression pedal input and up to 1000 ms of delay.
"Teuffelуs Tesla Prodigy features a very compact-looking 30"" scale, rosewood pickup covers and knobs, a 5-way pickup selector, and three momentary switchesяa 60-cycle hum generator, a kill switch, and a feedback generatorяfor a variety of killer experimental sounds."
"3rd Power Amplification didn't unveil any new models per se at this show, but it did debut a very cool new feature on its Dream Series amps. The rear-panel HybridMASTER control has the same goal as an attenuatorяi.e., to yield great tone at more manageable volumesяbut designer Jamie Scott says that, unlike attenuators, this new feature adjusts multiple points in the circuit rather than just one in order to preserve the feel and tone achieved at full volume. We were very impressed with what we heard from it at the show."
"Beard Guitars debuted its new Odyssey resonator, which features an intriguing design with an internal bass-reflex baffle that turns the body into more of a speaker cabinet and drastically improves bass and lower-mid projection."
"DigiTech debuted the new iPB-10 Programmable Pedalboard. It features an iPad dock and the new iPB Nexus app, which offers 87 different pedal models, 37 amp models, and 32 cabinet models. All models can be quickly and easily manipulated onscreen via visual representations of the devices. Fourteen footswitches let you switch between 20 banks of five virtual pedalboards, each of which can have up to 10 pedals, as well as amp emulations inserted at any point in the chain."
"The Juliet Collective, out of Mississippi, had some really unique and beautifully built stomps at their first NAMM appearance. The ultra-cool Set Adrift on Memory Bliss modulated delay has tons of sweet conventional delay sounds on tap (we loved the slapback sounds), radical modulated delay tones, and a guitar-mounted wand you can use to control the modulation in real time."
"Joeker Guitars, a first-time NAMM exhibitor, brought samples of their custom instruments. They're launching with two models, the Classic (pictured) and the Rush, but they also accommodate custom body shapes. All the guitars are neck-through and are built completely customяincluding wood, pickups, hardware, etc. The guitars are built in the USA and the company says it aims to differentiate itself by being equipped for a larger number of orders than most custom builders and offering shorter wait times of six to eight weeks max."
Shubb brought its new ukulele capo to the show. It's currently available in brass and retails for $24.95.
"Kala Brand Music Instruments introduced the new S-U-B Series U-Bass. This new line is an import and more affordable version of Kala's popular, U.S.-made California Series."
"Bite Me Electric Guitars showed off their hand-built super Strat-style guitar. Designer David Abner makes one style with no frills, believing that a guitar should be plain and useful. With a Floyd Rose bridge and a single Seymour Duncan custom-wound pickup this axe was made for shredding."
"Richard Hoover pulled out all the stops for Santa Cruz' 35th Anniversary Cowgirl Showpiece. This showstopper has old-growth Brazilian rosewood back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top from Hoover's own special stash. The mother-of-pearl fretboard inlay is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, too."
Bluesman brought some fine looking relics inspired by Fender classics to their first NAMM.
"Overton Amps debuted their Flyweight 200 bass amp. The amp lives up to its name, weighing in at just two pounds, and features an auto compressor, Sculpt control, and 3-band active EQ in addition to Gain and Master Volume controls."
