'54 Duo Jet model 6128
Introduced in 1953, the Duo Jet model 6128 was the first Gretsch entry into the emerging solidbody guitar market. Visually this guitar took inspiration from the Gibson Les Paul, but the chambered body, and powerful DeArmond Dynasonic single-coil pick-ups provide a distinctive sound. Zach loves his Sovtek Mig 60 head, which he plays through a cab he built himself at a pipe-organ shop in Denver. Every glue joint is lined with thin leather for maximum air tightness, and it’s stocked with Celestion G12M Greenback speakers.
