Guild Announces Standard Series Acoustics

The series includes D-40, D-50, F-30, F-30R, F-50, and F-212XL

Scottsdale, AZ (November 9, 2010) – Guild Guitars announces its new Standard Series guitars. The Standard Series brings Guild’s legacy of supreme playability, understated elegance, and unmistakable full, balanced tone to a new price point, while offering an array of upscale and consumer-requested features. The Series includes six acoustic models.

“Now, consumers can get into a Guild USA guitar at a lower price and still get a premium instrument,” states Guild Product Manager Dave Gonzalez. “We’ve listened to our customers’ requests, and included features like a satin finished neck with a slimmer profile and a 1 3⁄4” nut on the Orchestra models.”

All of the Standard Series guitars feature Sitka Spruce tops with Red Spruce bracing for a strong and balanced sound profile. Also standard on the guitars is a satin-lacquer finished neck for a smooth, broken-in feel; a slimmer neck profile for supreme playability; bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins for superior tone transfer; and a dual-action truss rod for easy adjustments.

Guild D-50 Standard

The D-40 Standard and D-50 Standard models are classic Guild Dreadnoughts that feature mahogany and rosewood back and sides, respectively. With their strong, balanced tone and the exceptional Standard Series feature set they are truly player-centric instruments with premium sound quality.

Guild F-30 Standard

The F-30 Standard and F-30R Standard Orchestra models feature a smaller body size, 1 3⁄4” bone nut and full scale, making them ideal for everything from tuned-down finger-style pieces to folk-style strumming. The F-30’s mahogany back and sides produce a strong and focused sound, while the F-30R’s rosewood back and sides produce a rich, complex and warm sound.

Two Jumbo models offer powerful projection and volume. The F-50 Standard boasts a unique arched laminated maple back for a big sound at exceptional volume, while the 12-string F-212XL Standard’s solid genuine mahogany back and sides provide balanced sound and a wide dynamic range.

The Standard Series acoustic models are shipping now.
