Reverend Announces Reeves Gabrels, Unknown Hinson and Six Gun Models
Reverend has announced three new models that will be on display at NAMM: the Reeves Gabrels Signature, the Unknown Hinson Signature and the Six Gun.
Reeves Gabrels Signature Guitar
Reverend has teamed up with David Bowie/Tin Machine/solo guitar legend Reeves Gabrels for a new signature electric guitar. The guitar fulfills Reeve's desire for a versatile and affordable guitar that can cover everything from high-gain shred to avant garde rock to heavy blues. We first saw the guitar at Summer NAMM in Nashville (see video), and the company is now officially announcing the release.
The uncovered Reverend bridge humbucker and Dimarzio Fast Track 1 neck pickup deliver clarity with power, and the push-pull phase switch adds unique tone options. Other key features include a solid korina body, flame maple top, 25.5" bolt-on maple neck, Pin-Lock tuners, and Bass Contour control. Available in Trans Red, or Trans Black. List: $1199, Street $999.
Unknown Hinson Signature Guitar
Reverend has cooked up a new signature guitar with Unknown Hinson, the self-proclaimed King of Country Western Troubadours, Billy Bob Thornton sideman, and underground guitar legend. Hinson is also the the voice of Early Cuyler, from Cartoon Network's late night Adult Swim program, Squidbillies. The guitar fulfills Hinson's need for a lightweight semi-hollow guitar that can cover everything from authentic twang to classic rock kerrang.
The slim 1-1/4" thick body with full length center block offers resonant tone, and reduced weight. The two Reverend P-90 pickups in combination with the Bass Contour control deliver a wide pallete of tone options. The black color scheme, bat inlays, and included Coffin Case complete the vampire-meets-hillbilly vibe. Other key features include a korina body with solid spruce top, 24.75" bolt-on maple neck, and Pin-Lock tuners. Available in Black only. List: $1329, Street $1099.
Six Gun
Reverend has released the Six Gun guitar. Part of the Bolt-On Series, the Six Gun is designed to deliver "S" style tones but bigger. The T-style bridge pickup and custom S-style middle/neck pickups are all wound slightly hot for classic shimmer and twang but with more body. The Bass Contour control can be dialed back for a leaner more traditional tone, making this a very versatile guitar. Other key features include a solid korina body, 25.5" bolt-on maple neck, and Pin-Lock tuners. Available in Metallic Blue, or Vintage Clear.Available left handed. List price $839, Street $699.

Introducing: The All-New ZVA 5 Bass - YouTube
If you’re new to Priest’s music or are trying to find your own starting point, we’ve got some great tips for guitar jammers. And if you’re a hardcore fan, maybe you’ve got some tips you can share for our next steps.
In this episode, we’re celebrating the thrill of guitarmony, sick riffs, and driving 8th-note rhythms by talking about Judas Priest. Before getting ready for this episode, neither of your esteemed hosts had ever delved into the Priest discography beyond the rock-radio hits and Beavis and Butthead—though we’d both spent our time with Heavy Metal Parking Lot. Since so many of the GOATs hold the band in the highest of regard, we knew that K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton belonged on this list, so we embarked on a journey to find out why.
After hours of listening and watching, we’re happy to report that we get it. From their debut, 1974’s Rocka Rolla, through 1980’s British Steel, deep into the ’80s-production era with 1986’s Turbo, and through the speed-metal bravado of 1990’s Painkiller, plus live videos and records—the super-loud US Festival performance and the crushing Unleashed in the East record—we found a lot that we love.
