All-Star Hendrix Gala Tours Again

“Experience Hendrix” Rocks in October

Renton, WA (August 27, 2007) - A jam-packed list of rock and blues heavyweights are slated to celebrate the music of Jimi Hendrix in a short tour beginning this October. The Experience Hendrix Tour is presented by Experience Hendrix, LLC, the family-owned company entrusted with preserving and protecting the legacy of Hendrix. It features blues legend Buddy Guy and pedal steel innovator Robert Randolph as well as modern greats Jonny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Special guests include Hendrix’ own band mates -- drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, as well as drummer Christ Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s band Double Trouble. Also: Robby Krieger of the Doors and Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones, guitarist Hubert Sumlin, Native American band Indigenous, Kid Rock guitarist Kenny Olson, transcriber/chops guru Andy Aledort and guitarist/vocalist Eric Gales.

The dream lineup will be performing music written by and associated with Hendrix. Janie Hendrix, CEO of Experience Hendrix noted, “Everyday, we see how Jimi’s musical legacy continues to transcend generational and cultural boundaries. This tour is our way to give live audiences a concert experience that reflects the genius of his unifying spirit.”

The first Experience Hendrix Tour took place in February of 2004. It also featured Guy, Shepherd, Sumlin, Gales, Mitchell, Cox and Double Trouble.
