"Bill Asher and guitarist Marc Ford first connected in 2003 when Ford was touring with Ben Harper. In у05, Ford approached Asher prior to the 2005 Black Crowes World Tour about making him a custom guitar specifically for the road. рHe wanted to blend the tones of his Les Paul Jr with the body-style and feel of a Stratocaster,с remembers Asher. The prototype was built in 2005 and it has finally become a street legal, 2011 signature model for Asher Guitars. The Marc Ford model has a 25 1/2"" scale, one-piece lightweight mahogany body, quartersawn figured-maple neck, rosewood fretboard, C-shaped neck (.92"" to .96"" depth), 1 5/8"" nut, Tom Short Sweet 90уs pickups, and Hipshot tuners."
