Blackstar Introduces Fly High Gain Mini Amp

Blackstar Amplification has launched the Fly High Gain, a new addition to the company’s popular Fly series designed specifically for players seeking heavier tones in an ultra-portable format.

Building on the success of the original Blackstar Fly 3, the Fly High Gain expands the platform with a three-channel design, introducing an all-new Nitro channel voiced for modern high-gain performance. Designed with metal, hard rock and punk players in mind, the Nitro channel delivers aggressive saturation while a built-in noise gate keeps tones tight and controlled.

At the core of Fly High Gain is the same specially tuned sealed cabinet design and custom 3” speaker that helped make the original Fly a global success. The familiar Clean and Overdrive channels deliver the tones players already know from the Fly platform, while the Nitro channel introduces a significantly higher gain structure tailored for modern rock and metal styles.

Despite its compact size, Fly High Gain offers the features players expect from a serious practice amplifier. Blackstar’s patented Infinite Shape Feature (ISF) allows players to shape their tone from a tight American-style response through to a mid-focused British voice, while the built-in analogue-style delay adds depth to solos and lead lines. An Aux input enables players to jam along with backing tracks, and the emulated headphone output provides high-quality tone for silent practice or direct recording.

Fly High Gain can be powered by batteries for true portability, making it ideal for use at home, backstage, on tour or anywhere inspiration strikes. For an even bigger sound, the amp can also be paired with the optional Blackstar FLY 103 extension cabinet to create a larger stereo mini rig.

Visually, the Fly High Gain features a darker, more aggressive aesthetic inspired by Blackstar’s flagship Blackstar Series One MK II amplifiers, including a new grille design, brushed control panel and metal logo.
