Orangewood Introduces the Juniper Rubber Bridge Guitar

Orangewood Introduces the Juniper Rubber Bridge Guitar

An all-new solid top parlor model, Juniper is constructed with a rubber-lined saddle designed to capture the muted tone reminiscent of the past, while incorporating all the functionalities of a modern guitar.

The Orangewood product team tested many rubber-lined saddle designs to find the right thickness and adjustability for their new parlor model. They then upgraded the top and bridge construction with additional reinforcement and added in a trapeze tailpiece. For excellent tuning stability, they added in Grover open-gear tuners. The result is modern performance with a punchy yet articulate sound.

ā€‹And while Juniper sounds great unplugged, the rubber bridge especially shines when amplified and explored through amps and pedals. To make the guitar tour-ready, the Juniper is equipped with a powerful, high-output rail pickup to pristinely amplify the mellowness of the rubber bridge. A vintage-style cupcake knob adds volume control.

For the final touches, Orangewood added Ernie Ball Flatwound Electric Guitar Strings, providing the perfect warmth to accentuate Juniperā€™s tonal textures. These lighter gauge flat wound strings are chosen for their smooth feel and ease of playability. To match this old-school sound, juniper was developed with vintage-style aesthetic details, including double bound binding and a 3-ply pickguard.

The Juniper will launch in two satin finishes: Black or Sunburst.

ā€œWeā€™re excited to finally introduce our first rubber bridge model that captures an old-school sound, plays easily and in-tune, and is affordable,ā€ said Eddie Park, Orangewoodā€™s co-founder. ā€œPersonally, Iā€™ve been such a fan of the rubber bridge sound thatā€™s been popping up across my favorite artistsā€™ records, and I think thereā€™s a reason why it resonates with so many guitarists today. It captures this dreamy, otherworldly tone that is really unique. It allows guitarists to write and hear songs in a whole new way.ā€

Every Juniper is professionally set up by Orangewoodā€™s in-house guitar technicians before shipment and includes a gig bag. The guitar retails at $395 and is available directly online at orangewoodguitars.com/collections/rubber-bridge. A select inventory of models will also be available through Chicago Music Exchange.

Keith Urbanā€™s first instrument was a ukulele at age 4. When he started learning guitar two years later, he complained that it made his fingers hurt. Eventually, he came around. As did the world.

Throughout his over-30-year career, Keith Urban has been known more as a songwriter than a guitarist. Here, he shares about his new release, High, and sheds light on all that went into the path that led him to becoming one of todayā€™s most celebrated country artists.

There are superstars of country and rock, chart-toppers, and guitar heroes. Then thereā€™s Keith Urban. His two dozen No. 1 singles and boatloads of awards may not eclipse George Strait or Garth Brooks, but heā€™s steadily transcending the notion of what it means to be a country star.
