Police Instruments on eBay for Charity

Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland donate instruments for charity

San Luis Obispo, CA (August 7, 2008) -- A complete set of The Police’s instruments are now up for auction on eBay, including: Sting’s Signature Bass, Sting’s Sennheiser Microphone and Stand (used during the 2007/2008 World Police tour); Andy Summer’s Signature Fender Telecaster; plus Stewart’s Copeland’s Tama Star Drum Set (played at the 2007 GRAMMY Awards) and features his current set up of Paiste cymbals including the Signature Blue Bell Ride, which Paiste developed in collaboration with the legendary drummer. All of the items are autographed and come with letters of authenticity.

The auctions began on August 4, and bidding will end on August 14. 100 percent of the proceeds from the auction will benefit Public Television Rocks!, is an initiative formed between New York Public Television stations, Thirteen/WNET and WLIW21. The Police chose to support these stations in recognition of their contributions to art, music, and culture both in New York, and nationally.

Last week, through the generous donations of The Police and B-52s, Public Television Rocks! raised almost $50,000 on eBay for charity with some incredible Police and B-52s VIP concert packages. The lucky winners will get to experience the final Police tour concert at the Madison Square Garden August 7th.

Though compressors are often used to add excitement to flat tones, pedal compressors for guitar are often … boring. Not so theWarm Audio Pedal76. The FET-driven, CineMag transformer-equipped Pedal76 is fun to look at, fun to operate, and fun to experiment with. Well, maybe it’s not fun fitting it on a pedalboard—at a little less than 6.5” wide and about 3.25” tall, it’s big. But its potential to enliven your guitar sounds is also pretty huge.
