The band's guitar-star captain details BBS' sustained success marking their silver anniversary, remembers the honor and privligede he had playing Gary Rossington's "Free Bird" SG, explains the reason for lusting after under-the-radar vintage workhorse Gibsons, and shares the joy he has celebrating the music of Marshall Tucker Band and Toy Caldwell. Plus, host John Bohlinger and Charlie Starr share a pair of groovy, greasy jams!
Early Thunderbird models were built with a nine-ply neck-through-body design with mahogany wings, marking the first use of neck-through construction on a Gibson bass. It was also the first Gibson bass to feature a long 34” scale length, departing from the shorter 30.5” scale used previously. Today, Gibson honors that heritage with a new Thunderbird Bass that blends the spirit of the original with modern craftsmanship and performance.

Ahead of their show at the Auditorium, Bohlinger spoke with King and bandmate Drew Smithers about the Marshall-Gibson connection that fuels their high-powered rock ’n’ roll. King’s father, Marvin, also makes a special cameo! Tune in for a steamy slice of Southern rock. Brought to you by D’Addario.

The EHX Percolator expands on this original by adding modern control to a seriously wild sounding pedal.
