AER Introduces Alpha Plus Acoustic Amp

AER Introduces Alpha Plus Acoustic Amp

The Alpha Plus adds features and power to AER''s smallest model, the Alpha

Montreal, Quebec (March 5, 2010) -- Audio Electric Research (AER) has recently begun shipping the Alpha Plus in North America.

Based on the Alpha (the smallest and simplest acoustic amp in the AER range), the Alpha Plus incorporates a bigger cabinet and increases the power output from 40W to 50W, providing greater volume and extended headroom. All the while, the Alpha Plus provides the warmth, clarity, and natural tone for which AER is renown, and preserves much of the original Alphaā€™s beloved simplicity: a single 8ā€ twin-cone speaker, a single channel, three band tone controls, and digital reverb effect. The Alpha Plusā€™ two inputs, when used simultaneously for guitar and vocals, transform the amp into a compact, superbly-sounding PA which can easily handle small club gigs.

The Alpha Plusā€™ back panel houses the footswitch, effects send and return, DI output, line output and headphone output sockets.

An ideal solution for acoustic instrumentalists who donā€™t require the higher output power and feature-rich complexity of its bigger AER siblings, the Alpha Plus adds another attractive option at the lower end of AERā€™s price range.

Musiquip, the USA distributor of AER, has already begun shipping the Alpha Plus to authorized AER dealers. Retail price is at $1129.

Strymon calls the BigSky MX pedal ā€œone reverb to rule them all.ā€ Yep, thatā€™s a riff on something weā€™ve heard before, but in this case it might be hard to argue. In updating what was already one of the marketā€™s most comprehensive and versatile reverbs, Strymon has created a reverb pedal that will take some players a lifetime to fully explore. That process is likely to be tons of fun, too.
