John Page Classic Unveils AJ Model

A single-cutaway T-style guitar loaded with a P-90 in the neck.

Pittsburgh, PA (February 2, 2016) -- John Page Classic, the guitar brand that brings the custom design genius of John Page to production guitars, unveiled its newest model, the AJ single-cutaway T-style guitar, at NAMM 2016. Like all John Page Classic models, the AJ is custom designed by John Page, formerly Fender Custom Shop Co-Founder and among the greatest custom luthiers, built to his exacting standards in a state of the art workshop, and set up in the US by John Page authorized techs. It features Bloodline by John Page JP-3 pickups and is backed by a Lifetime Performance Guarantee. The AJ is available in Seafoam Green, Black Metallic, 2-Tone Sunburst and Desert Sand. MSRP is $1639. The Bloodline by John Page JP-3 pickups on the AJ are also sold separately.

“This guitar is an evolution of the first guitar I designed when I started my custom shop in 2006, so I named it the ‘AJ,’ after my firstborn son, Adam John,” said John Page. “The John Page Classic AJ has all the features in my hand-built AJ guitars, including an extremely comfortable medium-C shaped grip, my Bloodline by John Page pickups, my threaded machine bolt neck assembly for superior tone transfer, stylized front and back contours and a lower horn and neck heel for easy upper fret access, and bass justified fret dots that reduce or eliminate the need for string trees.”

Howard Swimmer, Founder & CEO of HRS Unlimited, parent company of the John Page Classic brand, said “The AJ is the latest embodiment of our mission to bring John Page custom design to accessible production guitars. It builds on the success of the Guitar Player Hall of Fame winning Ashburn single coil model and the more recent dual humbucker Ashburn HH model, and was enthusiastically embraced at NAMM by leading artists and dealers alike.”

The AJ pickup configuration is an essential ingredient in the instrument’s tone: The Bloodline JP-3P (P-90) pickup in the neck position is wound to give it much more clarity than is normally associated with that style of pickup. Partnered with the JP-3T, a classic T-style bridge pickup, the two blend to deliver a great, full classic tone, but with lots of clarity. The vintage T-style bridge plate has reverse angled pickup mounting to add more depth to the high strings and alleviate the ice pick highs usually associated with T-styles. The vintage style 3 brass saddles are step-compensated for more accurate intonation and the controls are rear loaded for a clean, classic look.
