Forge AXB Bass Preamp Head & AXB 4108 Cab Demo

PG's Chris Burgess is On Location in Frankfurt, Germany for Musikmesse '09 where he visits the Forge Active Bass Amps booth. In this video, we get to hear and see their Forge AXB Bass Preamp Head which runs through their AXB 4108 Cab. The preamp head features 4-12AX7 and 3-12AU7 tubes, selectable clean tube for crisp tones or classic tube for aggressive tube sound and an active 5-band EQ. The cabinet runs on 2100 watts and features Neodymium speakers, one 18" sub, four 10" bass, and three 5" high-frequency.

You may know the Gibson EB-6, but what you may not know is that its first iteration looked nothing like its latest.

When many guitarists first encounter Gibsonā€™s EB-6, a rare, vintage 6-string bass, they assume it must be a response to the Fender Bass VI. And manyEB-6 basses sport an SG-style body shape, so they do look exceedingly modern. (Itā€™s easy to imagine a stoner-rock or doom-metal band keeping one amid an arsenal of Dunables and EGCs.) But the earliest EB-6 basses didnā€™t look anything like SGs, and they arrived a full year before the more famous Fender.
