A look at some of the hottest new boutique guitars, amps, and pedals from the Oct. 5-6 show in Van Nuys, California.

Bogner is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the release of the Helios amp line. Available in 50- and 100-watt models, it's based on the original two-channel Marshall plexis Reinhold Bogner modded for artists such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens, and Jerry Cantrell—the amps that led to the start of his company. Set for a release in eight weeks, the 50-watt version will sell for $2,550, while the 100-watter will sell for $2,850.

Nobody ever says, "I really enjoyed their use of inverted suspended triads," or "their application of large-interval pentatonic sequences was fascinating." So, whether you're playing live or recording, time is everyone's responsibility, and you must develop your ability to play in the pocket.
