July - Taylor 35th Anniversary Armrest GS Model
"Taylor Guitars celebrated with style in 2009, putting out ten limited edition models ranging from the unusual SolidBody Koa to the downright bizarre 9-stringяtheir first rendition before releasing this yearуs 9-string Baritone model. Each model, though, represented Taylorуs devotion to detail, playability, tone, and aesthetic. Feast your eyes on one of the 35th Anniversary Taylorsяthe Armrest GS model. The Armrest model featured here is one of 35 based on the GS series, a design Bob Taylor debuted in 2006. The detail work on the Indian rosewood armrest is based off the work of Canadian luthier Grit Laskin, designed to рoffer players a guitar with the coolest, most complex binding treatment you can get on an acoustic,с says Bob Taylor. The model shown here has a sunset honeyburst finish on a Sitka spruce top with quilted maple back and sides and a Venetian cutaway. All the Armrest models have the tone-enhancing CV bracing described as giving the guitar top a sweeter spot. Other features include an abalone rosette, Gotoh tuners, a bone nut and saddle, and the Taylor Expression System pickup. The other Armrest models showcase different woods for back and sidesяcocobolo, AA-grade Macassar ebony, and feathered walnutяand each have a Florentine cutaway instead of the Venetian. Thanks to Mark Torstenson of The Fret Shop for listing this guitar on Gear Search. "
