"Hank Williams' death in 1953 momentarily left a vacancy in hard country. Faron Young helped fill it with frisky honky-tonk music. In 1955, "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young" was not only his first # 1 country hit, but in many ways the personal credo of this brash singer. Inlaid on the pickguard of this personalized guitar is his nickname, "The Young Sheriff," inspired by his mid-1950s B-western screen roles."
