Blackstar Amplification Unity Pro Series U250

After many requests over the years for a bass amp, Blackstar Amplification just launched the Unity Pro series that comes in several different sizes. Here's the U250 and man, is it packed with features. It has three different voicing options, an OD/Distortion/Fuzz toggle, octave and chorus effects, compression, three different response modes, and a sweepable mid control. The whole line will range from about $250-$600.

Nineties-style high-gain heaviness that can be surgically tailored with a powerful EQ.

Excellent variations on high-gain modern distortion tones. Powerful EQ.

Not many low- or mid-gain sounds here.

The new Hard Drive has been in the works since as far back as 2016, when Josh Scott and his staff were finishing off workdays by jamming on ā€™90s hard rock riffs.
