Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff

Because Antonoff isn’t busy enough with his other bands, Fun and Steel Train, why not start a third band? The lone permanent member of Bleachers used to make indie-pop magic thanks to an Epiphone Wilshire Phant-O-Matic, but this year’s festival circuit saw him depending on a Fender American Original ’60s Jazzmaster.

One of Summers’ still-ongoing projects is a multimedia show entitled “The Cracked Lens + A Missing String,” which he started touring before the pandemic.

With the release of his latest solo EP, Vertiginous Canyons, the former Police guitarist shares in-depth on his personal journey from Romani caravan to becoming a peer of Eric Clapton’s to shaping a modern dialect of jazz-rock innovation.

This past June, onstage at a handsomely restored vaudeville theater in Washington, D.C., the guitarist and composer Andy Summers made a small but spirited crowd laugh. Hard.

The ability to tap in a tempo on pedals is a fairly new concept, especially compared to the amount of time that stompboxes have existed in our world. I would venture to guess that this is due in part to the availability of, and need for, digital ICs. Then, being able to code them and apply them to effects circuits appropriately.
