Here’s a close-up of a 7-string example of a 2019 JP Majesty. This one has a solid mahogany body, but there’s a maple top “shield” in the center section of its face. That shield essentially outlines the mahogany center, although the sides are mahogany, too. This finish: enchanted forest. Note that these guitars all have an angled headstock and locking tuners, verses a locking nut. Petrucci has been playing 7-strings since Dream Theater’s Awake album, in 1994.
