Chicago, IL (April 1, 2014) -- Chicago-based Dan Lakin, a well-known figure in the bass-building community, has launched a new company. D. Lakin Basses makes its debut with two new models that will be available this spring.

Dan Lakin first came to prominence when he founded Lakand Basses in 1994 with the goal of combining the precision and feel of truly high end bass guitars with familiar design aspects. Lakland became the a favorite among serious players and professionals alike but due to economic pressures Lakin sold Lakland to a private investment group in 2010. After a 3 year respite, Lakin is back in the bass business. His goal this time is to bring a truly high-end bass at a price all can afford. Dan’s signature artists are with him as well – Joe Osborn and Bob Glaub.

The Joe Osborn contains two D. Lakin single-coil pickups and the Bob Glaub model hosts one split-coil humbucker.
