Dwarfcraft Devices Releases Limited-Edition Eau Claire Thunder

A smaller, streamlined enclosure and control interface for a slick modern exterior, with germanium diodes and NOS Fairchild 2n5133 transistors.

Eau Claire, WI (May 29, 2019) -- For over a decade Dwarfcraft had been producing their flagship distortion device, the Eau Claire Thunder. As 2018 drew to a close, Dwarfcraft’s Supreme Commander Louise had a brilliant idea for a 2019 Thunder. A smaller, streamlined enclosure and control interface for a slick modern exterior, with germanium diodes and NOS Fairchild 2n5133 transistors for a vintage Muff vibe. Because of the choice of transistors, only 65 of these beauties will be built.

The pedal includes the modifications most often requested by touring musicians: a smaller enclosure, top mounted jacks, and no feedback circuit. As always, the Timewarp toggle controls a clipping diode and the Toneblast switch bypasses the Tone control for more volume and a fuller frequency response. The use of NOS transistors also decreased the gain, making this version of the circuit warmer, a little more "wooly," and somewhat more versatile than the balls-out OG Thunder.

The Gold Standard Thunder will retail for $229.
