The second new song from the album slated for worldwide release on February 22, 2019.

(January 11, 2019) -- Two-time Grammy-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater have released another song from their recently announced 14th studio album, Distance Over Time. ā€œFall Into The Lightā€ is the second new song from the album slated for worldwide release on February 22, 2019. The new song builds upon the excitement that the band created in December with the release of the first track from Distance Over Time, ā€œUntethered Angel,ā€ that has been viewed over 1.5 million times in 4 weeks since its release. ā€œFall Into The Lightā€ is a riff-driven, epic musical experience that takes the listener on a 7-minute emotional journey, something Dream Theater does all too well.

ā€œā€˜Fall Into The Lightā€™ is about the quest towards enlightenment that exists in life,ā€ explains bassist John Myung. ā€œIt is more about the underlying themes of lifeā€™s journey and less about what happens once you get there. It is a song of introspection; about looking inside to find your individual happiness.ā€

Distance Over Time showcases a newfound creativity for Dream Theater while maintaining the elements that have garnered them devoted fans around the globe. The album also marks the first for the bandā€™s new label InsideOutMusic / Sony Music. The artwork was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (Rush, Iron Maiden, Stone Sour). Distance Over Time was produced by John Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker.

Plenty of excellent musicians work day jobs to put food on the family table. So where do they go to meet their music community?

Being a full-time musician is a dream that rarely comes to pass. Iā€™ve written about music-related jobs that keep you close to the action, and how more and more musicians are working in the music-gear industry, but thatā€™s not for everyone. Casual players and weekend warriors love music as much as the hardcore guitarists who are bent on playing full time, but they may have obligations that require more consistent employment.

Gibson originally launched the EB-6 model with the intention of serving consumers looking for a ā€œtic-tacā€ bass sound.

You may know the Gibson EB-6, but what you may not know is that its first iteration looked nothing like its latest.

When many guitarists first encounter Gibsonā€™s EB-6, a rare, vintage 6-string bass, they assume it must be a response to the Fender Bass VI. And manyEB-6 basses sport an SG-style body shape, so they do look exceedingly modern. (Itā€™s easy to imagine a stoner-rock or doom-metal band keeping one amid an arsenal of Dunables and EGCs.) But the earliest EB-6 basses didnā€™t look anything like SGs, and they arrived a full year before the more famous Fender.
