Creation Audio Labs Unveils the Grizzly Bass and Holy Fire 9

A new power circuit that steps-up a standard 9VDC pedal power supply to the voltage required by the wave-shaping circuitry.

Nashville, TN (November 13, 2014) -- Overdrive Distortion effects, make your bass (or guitar) growl like a grizzly! Grizzly Bass is a different kind of animal created with the pro player in mind. Like a tube pre-amp but without the fragile tubes or heavy transformers. Drawing from the experience and technological advancements of the Holy Fire, MW1 and Funkulator; Grizzly Bass has studio specs and stunning aesthetics.

Features:

  • Clean Boost - from off to +12dB.
  • Overdrive - analog wave shaping tube simulator technology.
  • Distortion - Hard edge clipping circuitry.
  • Funkulator tone shaping contour control.
  • Hi-cut filter to shape edges for vintage speaker simulation.
  • Pristine Redeemer buffered output.
  • Buffered bypass is stock (true bypass is optional)
  • Can be uses as a DI to plug directly into the line-in of any sound system.
  • Uses 9VDC 250mA* standard tip-negative 5.5 x 2.1mm barrel connector.
  • Small footprint 3.1" x 4.25".

Typical distortion pedals use a ton of gain and clipping. This creates a lot of unwanted noise which needs to be heavily filtered and that thins out the tone. This is why pedals intended for guitar don’t work well for bass. Grizzly Bass borrows analog wave-shaping technology from the Holy Fire to re-shape the waveform and achieve tube-like FX without adding noise or heavy filters, preserving your bass tone all the way down to 20Hz. Try it out on a guitar, it's our best pedal yet!

This technology makes Grizzly Bass a very musical pedal that responds to your touch. Play with a softer attack and velocity for a cleaner sound, or dig in and the Grizzly Bass goes there with you – with as much grit as you need. It’s here to serve you, not the other way around! Control the effect with your playing dynamics. When you plug directly into a sound system or use a solid-state amp, Grizzly Bass is a great alternative to a bulky, fragile and expensive tube preamp.

The Holy Fire 9 is simply the best, A Holy Fire with our new power circuit that steps-up a standard 9VDC pedal power supply to the voltage required by the wave shaping circuitry. This ultra-wide bandwidth pedal responds exactly like a tube without changing your tone and is unbelievably quiet.

Features:

  • Clean Boost - from off to +12dB.
  • Overdrive - analog wave shaping tube simulator technology.
  • Distortion - Hard edge clipping circuitry.
  • Hi-cut filter to shape edges for vintage speaker simulation.
  • Unique LED interaction indicates the transition to wave shaping.
  • Pristine buffered bypass, true bypass optional.
  • Uses 9VDC 250mA* standard pedal power 5.5 x 2.1mm barrel connector.
  • Small footprint 3.1" x 4.25".

Typical distortion pedals use a ton of gain and clipping. This creates a lot of unwanted noise which needs to be heavily filtered and that thins out the tone. The Holy Fire introduced the world to analog wave-shaping technology to re-shape the waveform and achieve tube-like FX without adding noise or heavy filters. The pristine analog process preserves all of your original tone.

This makes the Holy Fire 9 overdrive distortion a very musical pedal that responds to your touch Play with a softer attack and velocity for a cleaner sound, or dig in to get as much grit as you want You control the effect with your playing dynamics and the volume of your instrument Great for guitar or bass! Like a tube preamp in a pedal, but without the bulky, fragile and expensive tubes and transformers.

Luthier Maegen Wells recalls the moment she fell in love with the archtop and how it changed her world.

The archtop guitar is one of the greatest loves of my life, and over time it’s become clear that our tale is perhaps an unlikely one. I showed up late to the archtop party, and it took a while to realize our pairing was atypical. I had no idea that I had fallen head-over-heels in love with everything about what’s commonly perceived as a “jazz guitar.” No clue whatsoever. And, to be honest, I kind of miss those days. But one can only hear the question, “Why do you want to build jazz guitars if you don’t play jazz?” so many times before starting to wonder what the hell everyone’s talking about.

After many decades of sticking with flagship body shapes, Fender spent the last several years getting more playful via their Parallel Universe collection. The Meteora, however, is one of the more significant departures from those vintage profiles. The offset, more-angular profile was created by Fender designer Josh Hurst and first saw light of day as part of the Parallel Universe Collection in 2018. Since then, it has headed in both upscale and affordable directions within the Fender lineup—reaching the heights of master-built Custom Shop quality in the hands of Ron Thorn, and now in this much more egalitarian guise as the Player Plus Meteora HH.
