"One of the modern successors to DуAngelico and DуAquistoуs New York City luthierie school is John Monteleone. Monteleone honed his repair skills in the legendary Mandolin Brothers store before beginning a relationship with James DуAquisto in the 1970s. He introduced his Grand Artist mandolin in 1977 with modern performance improvements, and began building modern archtops in the late 1980s."
