GR Bass Amplification Introduces the ONE800 Bass Amplifier

A lightweight bass head that can dish out up to 800 watts.

Austin, TX (November 1, 2018) -- Sonata Marketing, Ltd. is excited to present the GR Bass ONE800 lightweight bass guitar amplifier, now available at $799.

For the first time in the USA, GR Bass gear is available to qualified retail dealers. GR Bass amplification is meticulously built in Italy, and has a detailed sonic audio soundstage. The complete GR Bass product line is designed to ensure that the sound of your bass is not altered or changed while playing through their amplifiers, speakers or combo amps. You get the pure sound of bass (woods, pickups, construction) through the amplifier. If you want to modify the sound of your bass, you have plenty of options with the 4-band EQ (both the Lo-Mid and Hi-Mid have three frequency selections), a Deep switch and a Bright switch. You are also provided a ‘Pure’ switch that allows you to bypass all tone controls for a ‘straight-wire-with-gain’ approach to obtaining sonic purity.

In addition to the robust EQ section, the GR Bass ONE800 includes a tuner (optimized for 4, 5 & 6-string bass), a direct output with front panel level control, headphone output with level control, front panel mute switch, rear panel effects send/return jacks, rear panel DI XLR with pre/post switch & GND lift switch, dual SpeakOn combo jacks (for either SpeakOn or 1⁄4” connectors), a fan with silent switch mode, a 9v power supply for up to 5 pedals and an amplifier power supply that runs on universal world-wide voltage. The cast chassis, 6 Lb. package can produce up to 800W RMS @ 4-Ohms.

The GR Bass product line includes amplifiers, speaker cabinets and combo amplifiers. These powerful, lightweight amps & speakers embody the stylish Italian design and attention to detail. All GR Bass products are easy to use, sound great and represent a terrific value. Customized graphics and colors on the amplifiers and speakers are also available by special order. Billy Corgan shining with his Reverend Z One.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman balances a busy creative life working as a wrestling producer, café/tea company owner, and a collaborator on his forward-thinking, far-reaching line of signature guitars. Decades into his career, Corgan continues to evolve his songcraft and guitar sound for the modern era on the band’s latest, Aghori Mhori Mei.

“Form follows function,” explains Billy Corgan when asked about the evolution of his songwriting. These three words seem to serve as his creative dictum. “Early Pumpkins was more about playing in clubs and effecting a response from the live audience, because that’s where we could get attention."

The effect of ecommerce on CopperSound's shipping room.

Our columnist ponders the business-to-consumer model, and how the design of online stores might be more crucial to the stompbox industry than we’d like to admit.

Let’s open things up with a TV/movie trope. The character on screen has a speech that they’ve been preparing for once they’re called up onstage to address the audience. When they finally get up to the lectern to deliver it, they pause, give the attendees a look over, and rip up their script in a dramatic fashion before pursuing an off-the-cuff, heartfelt message that goes on to invigorate the crowd and inspire a roaring ovation. For right now—I’m at least doing the first part of that. I’m abandoning my planned topic. Consider this me ripping up my finely curated index cards.

Loud, evil, searing hot, and unexpectedly versatile, the Fuzz War’s demented bass cousin has a bold and more-complex personality all its own that sounds radical with guitar, too.

Evil. Just plain evil. Unexpected and vast variation. Responds interestingly to bass volume and tone attenuation. Wet/dry mix control. Sounds amazing (and extra evil) with guitar.

None.
