D’Addario’s Backline Gear Transport Pack Slims Down for Musicians on the Move

D’Addario’s Backline Gear Transport Pack Slims Down for Musicians on the Move

The Backline Gear Transport Pack Solo is designed to streamline travel for solo performers, while still affording them much-needed gear space.

The Backline Gear Transport Pack has gone solo. At two-thirds the size of the original, the Backline Gear Transport Pack Solo is designed to streamline travel for solo performers, while still affording them much-needed gear space.

The Backline Solo is sleek and streamlined, featuring six specialized compartments for all the gear most solo performers need. The Solo can safely stow a computer, cables, pedals, mics, and merch—plus additional gear for the next gig. With heavy-duty construction, water-resistant zippers, and comfort-padded contact points, solo musicians will arrive confident, comfortable, and ready to play.

Players who found the original Backline Gear Transport Pack larger than they need—or perhaps slightly outside their price point—will find the Solo particularly appealing. At a MAP price of$169.99, the Backline Gear Transport Pack Solo is also great for storing musical instrument accessories between gigs, so there’s always a designated spot for gear at home— and it’s all ready to go for the next performance.

The 6-string wielding songwriter has often gotten flack for reverberating his classic band’s sound in his solo work. But as time, and his latest, tells, that’s not only a strength, but what both he and loyal listeners want.

The guitarist, singer, and songwriter Jerry Cantrell, who is best known for helming Alice in Chains, one of the most influential bands in hard-rock history, is an affable, courteous conversationalist. He’ll apologize, for instance, when he’s been on a PR mission all afternoon and needs to eat something. “I’m sorry. I’m starving. I’m going to make a BLT while we finish this interview,” he says on a recent Zoom call.

“That’s bacon frying, by the way,” he adds, in case his interviewer was wondering about the sizzling sound in the background.
