Friedman Releases Pink Taco V2 Heads & Combos

Friedman Releases Pink Taco V2 Heads & Combos

The Pink Taco V2 is Dave’s latest version of the 20-watt EL84 powered single channel fire breather.

Dave’s first production amplifier, the BE-100, is criticality acclaimed and one on the most in demand British high gain meets vintage amps on the market today. The Pink Taco is the little baby sister to the BE-100 and was created for the many musicians who asking for the Friedman sound in a small, compact, lightweight, simplified version of the BE-100.

The Pink Taco V2 is Dave’s latest version of the 20-watt EL84 powered single channel fire breather. Capable of producing many styles of music from blues to classic rock and heavy rock to metal by just adjusting the gain, master controls and new added switches.

A lot of people don’t believe an EL-84 amp can deliver the tight bottom end and midrange that an EL-34 amp can produce. We beg to differ! Dave completely designed the amp to sound like a 100 watt EL-34 monster utilizing custom transformers and designing the amp to have the clearest signal path possible

You will notice instantly, the tight bottom end and rich harmonically detailed chords and single notes. This amp cleans up remarkably well with the guitar’s volume control, even with the amp on higher gain settings.

The Pink Taco V2 takes pedals very well and loves boosts, OD’s, phasers, flangers, tremolos, wahs, etc. The Pink Taco also has a brand-new custom designed ultra-transparent Series FX loop that takes time-based FX pedals and rack units equally well.

While Annie Clark was named the 26th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone in 2023, she couldn’t care less about impressing an athletic stamp on either her sound or her image.

On her eighth studio release, the electroacoustic art-rock guitarist and producer animates an extension of the strange and singular voice she’s been honing since her debut in 2007.

“Did you grow up Unitarian?” Annie Clark asks me. We’re sitting in a control room at Electric Lady Studios in New York’s West Village, and I’ve just explained my personal belief system to her, to see if Clark, aka St. Vincent, might relate and return the favor. After all, does she not possess a kind of sainthood worth inquiring about?

Mdou Moctar has led his Tuareg crew around the world, but their hometown performances in Agadez, Niger, last year were their most treasured.

On the Tuareg band’s Funeral for Justice, they light a fiery, mournful pyre of razor-sharp desert-blues riffs and political calls to arms.

Mdou Moctar, the performing moniker of Tuareg guitar icon Mahamadou “Mdou” Souleymane, has played some pretty big gigs. Alongside guitarist Ahmoudou Madassane, drummer Souleymane Ibrahim, and bassist Mikey Coltun, Moctar has led his band’s kinetic blend of rock, psych, and Tuareg cultural traditions like assouf and takamba to Newport Folk Festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, and, just this past April, to the luxe fields of Indio, California, for Coachella. Off-kilter indie-rock darlings Parquet Courts brought them across the United States in 2022, after which they hit Europe for a run of headline dates.

Since its introduction in 2013, PRS’s S2 range has worked to bridge the gap between the company’s most affordable and most expensive guitars. PRS’s cost-savings strategy for the S2 was simple.
